Wokha, July 9 (EMN): Advisor of Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan, on Friday sought community participation for all round development instead of waiting for government agencies to come to their rescue.
Speaking at the inauguration of Longtsung village approach road, which was constructed under LADP (2021-2022), Yanthan sought for community participation instead of waiting for the government agencies to take up various minor works. While underscoring the important role of the community, he called upon them to develop a sense of belonging for all round development in their areas.
The advisor also asked the people to forgive one another and march ahead with transparency in the larger interest of the community. He went on to urge the church leaders to nourish the followers with ethics of social life, which has become an integral part in human life.
Yanthan also lauded the leadership of Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and the NDPP for their commitment to serve the people.
At the consultative meetings of Lotsu, Pyangsa, Moilan and Pyotchu held at Lotsu village community hall, Yanthan highlighted the importance of education, water supply as well as medical institutions for the overall development of the community.
He called upon the concerned authorities to effectively carry out their responsibilities so that people are not deprived of their basic rights.
Also speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner of Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, sought for concerted efforts towards fulfilling the aspiration of the people. He further underlined the crucial roles of the public for social progress through unity and management of proper funds allotted to them.
John Ezung, president of NDPP Wokha region; Grace T Murry, general secretary of central women wing NDPP; Renbi Lotha, central executive board (CEB) NDPP, village leaders, elders and supporters also spoke on the
occasion.
