KOHIMA, OCTOBER 29: Angami wrestler Mhasilhousie Nagi defeated two-time champion Pfusato Tetse-o in the final to emerge as the winner of the King of the Ring Championship 2016, becoming the first Angami wrestler to do so.
24 year-old Mhasilhousie, who also won the heavyweight championship yesterday, downed his opponent in straight bouts to lift the coveted title here at Khuochiezie. The champion walked home richer with Rs 1,20,000 along with the title belt, while the runner-up Pfusato Tetseo, received a cash award of Rs 60,000.
Pfusato Tetse-o was the champion of the first and second edition of the King of the Ring Championship, organised by 3E Nagaland under the aegis of Nagaland Wrestling Association.
The third position was shared between Chakhesang wrestlers Khoveto Lala and Vekutho Soho. They both received Rs 30,000 each along with citations.
A total of 45 wrestlers, 35 from lightweight category and 10 from heavyweight, were selected to compete in the King of the Ring championship today.
Meanhwile, the organisers 3E Nagaland has announced the results of the raffle draw. The winning number is 0264. The owner of the winning ticket is asked to claim the prize (Bike) at the earliest.
