MGM College organises orientation on National Education Policy 2020

DIMAPUR: MGM College, Dimapur, organised a one-day orientation programme on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 with especial reference to four years undergraduate programme (FYUGP) at the college premises on June 1.

An update from the college stated that the programme began with a brief introduction and welcome address delivered by the principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. PS Varghese.

It stated that the principal of Livingstone Foundation International College, Dr. Behra, educated the mentors and administration on the core points of NEP 2020 and in particular FYUGP as per the university’s standards.

He drew attention to the four years integrated course under NEP 2020 by focusing on key points such as major and minor courses, interdisciplinary enhancement, skill enhancement and ability enhancement of which every credit is marked differently.

He also explained the process on how the student would be able to take a Masters’ degree for a year if a learner opts for the four years course. Additionally, numerous topics such as digi locker, Swayam online courses, professor of practice, and many more were highlighted.

Dr. Behra, also alerted the college on the importance of NACC and gave substantial information on the role to be played by the administration and the mentors.
