Metsubo Jamir inaugurates free coaching institute in Mokokchung
MOKOKCHUNG — Shisalen Riju, a coaching institute that will provide free coaching classes with a focus on NPSC and NSSB exams, was inaugurated on Monday in the Tzusapang sector of Mokokchung district.
Metsubo Jamir, Minister of Rural Development and SIRD, and special guest for the event, officially inaugurated the institute in the presence of NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer, Advisor for Information and Public Relation and Soil and Water Conservation Imkong L Imchen, Advisor for Water Resources Tongpang Ozukum, Advisor for Law and Justice and Land Revenue TN Manen, and district administration officials.
It is an initiative of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Mokokchung, and sponsored through the common pool under the Local Area Development Programme (LADP).
Addressing the programme, Jamir lauded DPDB Mokokchung for the remarkable initiative for the benefit of the people, adding that this is the first free coaching centre among the districts in the state initiated by a DPDB.
He also admitted that it is a herculean task to train a person for his life; therefore, both the faculty and students should be equally motivated and dedicated.
He advised teachers to stay up to date and well-equipped in their respective fields of teaching and learning, citing the significant difference between NSSB and NPSC subject matter.
The special guest also advised the aspiring students to cultivate a positive attitude, recognise the value of life, and understand that failures are stepping stones to success.
Tongpang Ozukum, chairman of the DPDB Mokokchung, said in his speech that Shisalen Riju was established by a unanimous decision of all 10 MLAs representing Mokokchung and approved during the DPDB meeting on July 13, 2023.
He said that this venture was launched with the intention of providing professional, academic, and experiential guidance to aspirants who have a genuine desire to advance their careers through various competitive examinations. The free coaching institute will be sponsored through the common pool under LADP for four years (2023-28) and eligible candidates should be bona fide domiciles of Mokokchung district from any tribe, Ozukum said.
