Methna declares candidature

A student leader turn politician, T. Methna Konyak today declared his candidature for 2018 State General Elections from 42-Wakching Assembly Constituency under Mon district.
Making the declaration before the media-fraternity in Kohima, Methna hailing from Tanhai village said if things go well, he would be contesting as BJP’s official candidate. He has recently joined BJP and is hoping to contest the polls as its official candidate. He recently joined BJP and has been assigned as Media convenor of BJP Mon district. Konyak said that considering the plight of the people of Mon district, specially his own constituency being under-developed and neglected by the past and present elected leaders, he felt the necessity to join politics to take up the cause of the constituency.
He said that as a leader of Konyak Students’ Union from 2011 to 2013, he felt that much needs to be done to take the people of the district forward in every front.
Konyak also lashed the present elected member of the constituency Independent MLA Y. M. Yolow stating that he along with the past leaders of the constituency and district have failed in all aspects.
He said that the problem of Mon district and the welfare of the people with regard to education, health, electrification, water supply, road connectivity has been a distant dream.
He therefore, said that once elected he would work to create awareness amongst the general masses about their rights and the various developmental funds which has not been reaching the grassroots people.
