Dimapur: Advisor to chief minister and chairman of Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Abu Metha, has appreciated the US government for the various programmes that are held in and organised in Nagaland and the Northeast India by the American Centre in Kolkata and also highlighted the possibilities for partnerships and collaborations in future.
Metha stated this during his meeting with the director of American Centre in Kolkata, Adrian Pratt, and other officials including Sameek Gosh and Aishwarya on Friday. Metha, accompanied by TaFMA chairman, Theja Meru, also interacted with other officials from various departments including education, exchanges and entrepreneurship, stated a DIPR report.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]In the meeting, Metha informed the US government officials on the various initiatives that are being undertaken in Nagaland and highlighted the possibilities for partnerships and collaborations. Some of the areas possibilities that were discussed included education, opportunities for underprivileged children, programmes in various sectors including sports, culture, music, arts etc.
Metha expressed confidence that the deliberations would result in positive initiatives and strengthen bilateral ties and increase people-to-people contact, which would result in mutual gain and benefit.
Theja Meru also highlighted the mandate and initiatives under TaFMA and discussed on future partnerships in the fields of music, arts and culture.
Report mentioned that Abu Metha and ThejaMeru were alumni of the US State department’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).
