‘Merryland Park’ in Chümoukedima to be opened soon
DIMAPUR — The soft launch of the much-awaited ‘Merryland Park’ in Chümoukedima was held on Saturday.
The park was jointly launched by Managing Director of ‘Merryland Park,’ TK Angami, and the deputy commissioner of Chümoukedima, Polan John, along with Razhuvotuo Chatsu, chairman of Chümukedima Village Council, and Lhusito Khro, chairman of Chümukedima Town Council.
Speaking on the occasion, TK Angami termed the launch of ‘Merryland Park’ as a dream come true. He informed that the idea of setting up an amusement park was conceived in responds to query by people from outside visiting the state if there are places of interest where they can spend leisure time.
He mentioned that they approached Nicco Park and Resorts, Kolkata, as consultant and entered into an agreement for the project. He appealed to the people of Chümoukedima to extend their support to enable them serve the public for all time to come.
In a short speech, DC of Chümoukedima, Polan John, has described as the first of its kind amusement park in Nagaland. He expressed confidence that the facility would attract people from all over the state.
“It is definitely a feather in the cap of Nagaland and it showcases the district as living up to its nomenclature ‘Land of opportunity’ and putting Chümoukedima prominently on the map,” John said.
The administrator of ‘Merryland Park,’ Vitono Haralu said that today’s event was a soft launch and be opened to public within one week. She added that the park will be opened on all weekdays from 9 am to 6 pm.
Short speeches were also delivered by Razhuvotuo Chatsu, Lhusito Khro and member of Chümoukedima Town Council, Kevisenuo Krus.
