Mereima VYO, DEF Kohima, NP and Bible College move ahead

Mereima Village Youth Organization (MVYO), District Execution Force (DEF) Kohima, Nagaland Police and Kohima Bible College today registered win to move ahead in the ongoing students’ memorial soccer tourney organized by Angami Students’ Union at Kohima Local Ground.In the first match of the day, Mereima VYO defeated Zeliangrong FC by 3-2.
The winners opened the account in the 17th minute through Kekhriengulie but their survival didn’t last long as Zeliangrong FC managed to find the equalizer within next seven minutes through Palmei to end the first half in 1-1 draw.
After the lemon break it was in the seventh minute that MVYO took the lead through Neiphrezolie but yet again Zeliangrong also came back to the game with the another equalizer in the 53rd minute through Pouhim.
Nonetheless, the Kekhriengulie came from behind once again to strike the winning goal in the 62nd minute book the second round berth for his team.
In the second match, DEF Kohima blanked Alder College 2-0 with Daikho Venuh scoring both the goals in the 11th and 55th minute of play.
Another cops team and former champions, Nagaland Police humiliated Kohima Science College by 9-1. Ninja not only opened the flood gates but also set the record of fastest goal of the tourney by scoring within the first 100 seconds while Lima Kumzuk also set the record of highest goals scored in a single match with five goals.
Kumzuk scored the second, third and fourth goals have his hat-trick in the 12th, 15th and 24th minute of play. Tia Sunep netted the fifth in 26th minute followed by Lemtong scoring sixth in the 30th minute leading the first half by 6-0.
Eight minutes into the second half, Lima Kumzuk resumed adding the score with his fourth followed by his fifth and eighth of the team in the 60 minute.
The 63rd minute witnessed Kohima Science College scoring the much needed face-saver through Lanulemba, but yet again KH Ramesh added the ninth goal for the cops a minute before the final whistle.
Playing the last match of the day, Kohima Bible College defeated Ehunu and Yikhanu Students’ Union by 3-0. Eyimbemo scored in the 12th minute followed by Kelesezo scoring the second and third goals in the 26th minute and 62nd minute of the game.
