Menuokhrielie, Seluokuolie create 3 new records

Menuokhrielie Solo of Tsütuonuomia Khel set two new records in the track event while Seluokuolie Kire of Dapfhütsumia Khel also created record shot-put on the second day of the ongoing 61st Kohima Village Sports Association (KVSA) hosted by Kohima Village Youth Organisation at Kohima Local Ground.Menuokhrielie Solo broke his own two records of 2010 in the 200 meters race (24:60 seconds) and 400 meters race (56:16 seconds).
His new records in the two event set today are 24.25 seconds for 200 meters race and 55.57 seconds for 400 meters race.
In men’s shot-put, Seluokuolie Kire of D. Khel broke the 2010 record of 10.56 meters made by Kedilelhou Belho of T. Khel by putting it at a distance of 10.88 meters.
The second place winner Vimezhülhou Solo of T. Khel also overcame the previous record as he threw the iron ball at a distance of 10.79 meters. However, the new record will be put on Kire.
In the medals tally after the completion of the 23 field and track events, defending overall champs T. Khel, though were placed in second position yesterday, today managed to come to their top position by winning a total of 30 medals, which include 11 gold, 13 silver and 6 bronze.
P. Khel, which failed to achieve any gold yesterday, today roared up to second position with 17 medals, including 5 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze while Lhisemia Khel occupies third place with 5 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze.
On Thursday, Volleyball for both men and women and football for men will be played.
