Meeting attendees retract statement of joining DPP

Dimapur, June5 (EMN): In a new twist to the news of some regional leaders of Mokokchung district joining the newly launched Democratic Progressive Party that was carried in the local dailies on Monday, four of the signatories have retracted their statement. A press rejoinder appended by the four members stated that although they had attended the meeting of the 'like-minded persons and regional party workers of Mokokchung district' they never agreed to joining the party. " In the much said meeting, we have attended and append our signature for it, however, it has been misconstrued that meeting signature was appended for joining the newly floated DPP. Subsequently, we have also refused to go down to Dimapur to meet the DPP leaders for the formation or gaining grounds in Mokokchung District." the release stated. They further stated that ," it is our bounden duty and responsibility to uphold the regional party in the district under the able leadership of Shri Imkong L Imchen, Honourable minister, Govt. of Nagaland. We once again re-iterate and reaffirm to extend unflinching support to our leader for his dedication and commitment to serve the people with vision and maturity." The press rejoinder was appended by Supongtoshi of 27 A/C; Pangerneken of 28 A/C; Yashi Imchen of 28 A/C and Temjenyanger of 28 A/C. They further stated that they appeal to all the concerned members who were not consulted to 'come out openly for justification'.
