Meet on customary and institutional laws
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 29
The Additional Chief Secretary, P&AR and Law & Justice, C.J. Ponraj held a consultative and co-ordination meeting of the government advocates and the government departments, on November 29, at the Secretariat Conference Hall. The meeting was convened to bring all concerned together to discuss and evolve strategies towards smooth settlements of cases.The Addl. chief secretary expressed that the Naga society is in the process of transition from the customary system to Institutional system of law and justice. He stressed that effective and prompt actions are necessary to prevent delays which results into high costs in court cases.
During the meeting, certain aspects of court cases such as Contempt of Court, Para-wise comments, Court directives and Court judgments etc. were discussed. The State Ligation Policy and the minutes of the last meeting were reviewed.
