Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): On the backdrop of the incidence of floods and water logging in many parts of Dimapur district the district health department led by the Chief Medical Officer has constituted a task force by the name of Rapid Response Team and assisted by the Mobile Medical Team to inspect the affected areas and check the outbreak of any epidemic. "An emergency meeting was held on 20th July 2017 by Dr. K.Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur and Dr. C.W. Tungoe, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Dimapur with Senior Medical Officers in view of the recent flooding in the Dimapur. In the emergency meeting, the following points were decided: Rapid Response Team was constituted and Health Officers will be inspecting the affected areas from 21st July 2017 onwards backed by Mobile Medical Team. Urban Malaria Scheme will start fogging in vulnerable areas and Anti-larvae measures to be taken after the water subsides to reduce water borne diseases," stated a press release from Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi the Chief Medical Officer of Dimapur. He also instructed all medical staff to be present at their place of posting in the district and be prepared for any outbreak of diseases due to the recent flooding. The CMO also requested all GBs, Council Members, Chairman of village and wards to inform the department of any epidemic.
