Medical Officers trained on NCD screening

[caption id="attachment_252344" align="aligncenter" width="565"] Medical Officers along with the resource persons during the training on population-based NCD screening and management at NHAK, Kohima.[/caption] Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): Training of Medical Officers (MOs) on population-based Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) screening and management was held between May 22 and 29 at DBT hall, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK). The training was conducted batch-wise: on May 22 and 23 and on May 28 and 29. An update from the media officer stated that the State nodal officer for NCD, Dr. W Nchumbemo Ezung, opened the session and gave introductory remarks on population-based NCD screening. The participants were trained on screening for non-communicable diseases and its management on cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The training was conducted to equip the doctors for various activities that is implemented in all the districts as initiated by the GoI for screening of all population above the age of 30 years on NCDs. Medical Officers were also oriented on the concept of Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) and Ayushman Bharat PMJAY. The resource persons of the training were Dr. Imotemsu, NHAK senior specialist, Dr. S Neiphrezo, NHAK junior specialist, and Dr. Pitibo Kibami, NHAK junior dental surgeon.
