Medical camp held in New Chamcha village

The people of New Chamcha village, Peren district, getting medical check-up during the monsoon medical camp-cum-vaccination drive held on August 25.

Dimapur, Aug. 26 (EMN): Ahthibung Region Club (ARC) organised a monsoon medical camp-cum-vaccination drive in collaboration with Jalukie battalion, Assam Rifles and PHC Ahthibung at New Chamcha village in Peren district on August 25.

An update from ARC informed that the medical camp provided the much-needed healthcare and medication to the people of the remote village that has been deprived of basic health care facilities.

The camp was aimed at providing basic healthcare to the villagers and vaccinations to the children, informed the update which added that situation worsen in monsoon for the people “as there is no road connectivity or any medical infrastructure.” With the nearest road some 13km away, the villagers have to 10-11 km before getting any transportation; and the camp gave the public a brief relief from monsoon-borne diseases, it stated.

The medical team comprised of Dr Vezo Kholu, one lab technician, a pharmacist, an optometrist and a nursing assistant from the Assam Rifles. The press release from ARC stated that so many people benefitted from the health camp.
