Imphal, Nov. 29 (EMN): Representatives of Editors Guild of India (EGI), Press Association(PA), Indian Journalist Union (IJU) and Ex-members of Press Council of India (PCI) visited the state to take part during the two-day Inter-Regional media interaction programme.
The delegation including Prakash Dubey of EGI, Jaishanker Gupta of PA, Kosuri Amarnath of IJU, Vivek Saxena and CK Naik both ex-PCI members presented a memento from Press Association to the governor during their visit at Raj Bhavan on Wed.
The team recounted recommendations of the interaction programme between Myanmar and India held at Hotel Imphal on Nov. 27 and 28th.
The two day interaction programme recommended on improving the relationship between the two countries and conduct more media exchange programmes in future besides working together for better connectivity in terms of road, railways, air and maritime communication i.e., better transport facilities between the two countries.
The representatives of the journalists’ bodies also met Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh at Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal.
The senior journalists not only had a candid interaction with the Chief Minister but also presented him a memento. They urged the Chief Minister to improve road connectivity. In another development a team of 13 Myanmarese-Manipuri delegates called on Chief Minister N Biren at Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Wednesday.
