MOKOKCHUNG – The Mokokchung District Taekwondo Association (MDTA) under aegis the Department of YR&S organised a district-level Under-14 taekwondo tournament-cum-selection on Saturday at Ladybird School, Mokokchung.
The tournament is being organised in pursuance of the Department of YR&S annual calendar of activities on ‘Catch Them Young’ initiative.
More than 50 players (both boys and girls) from five schools under Mokokchung district participated in the tournament under different weight categories.
MDTA president Supongwati Jamir informed that selected players from various categories will represent the district in the upcoming State-Level Under-14 Taekwondo Tournament to be held at IG Stadium on July 20 and the 21st. Earlier in the inaugural programme, MDTA president delivered the welcome address and District Sports Officer, Mokokchung, exhorted the gathering.
