Mokokchung, Oct. 5 (EMN): Mongsenbai Youngster recovered their previous loss by crushing Mongolian Brothers 5-0 while crowd favourite Zonipang SA finished off in a comfortable 3-0 victory against Moanungsang MSC during their matches at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung on Saturday, October 5.
After a disastrous loss to Kumlong on their previous encounter, Mongsenbai Youngster went on a full scale slaughter to register a 5-0 win against Mongolian Brothers in the first match.
Onenkaba and Imnatoshi of Mongsenbai Youngster opened the scoring with powerful shots in 13
th and 20
th minute of the first half for a 2-0 lead.
Mongsenbai continued to grind down Mongolian after the break and wrapped up the match by pumping in three more goals from the boots of Imnatoshi in the 51
st, Shiponglepba in 52
nd and Limasunep in the 57
th minute. Imtiangnen of Mongolian Bothers received a yellow card in the match.
The second match, witnessed a clashed of two titans Zonipang SA against Moanungsang MSC. However, Zonipang SA came out with a comfortable 3-0 win even though Moanungsang MSC had better ball position but lacked finishing touches.
Zonipang’s striker Retso Mero scored in the 28
th minute of the first half while Suponglemba and Sujemong added one each in the 60th and 70th minute of the game. Imsumanen and Aripong were cautioned with a yellow card during the match.
