MDFA Trophy 2016: Elation SA, Young Star FC, Shitilong SA and DYA register wins

Mokokchung, October 5: Four teams registered wins on the second day of the day of the ongoing MDFA Trophy 2016 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Two of the top contenders, Shitilong SA and Sports Society Suyim (SSS) clashed in third match of the day in which Shitilong SA prevailed 2-0.
The evenly-contested match was decided by Francis Sangma, Shitilong midfielder whose defence-splitting pass enabled his teammate Kethozhaopu to score in the 42nd minute. The final goal came from the boots of Jongpongnungsang in the 50th minute. In the relentless attempt to equalise, two players from SSS received yellow cards.

The final match of the day witnessed crowd favourites Dilong Youth Association (DYA) thrash Arikodong Club with contribution from Inshalu and Sujimong. Within 9 mintues of play, DYA striker Inshalu scored the first goal.
Inshalu once again found the net in the 55th minute by landing a smooth left finish Three minutes later DYA defender Sujimonh netted a header from the penalty area. Arikodong Club managed to get a goal in the 68th minute through Wasu Kalengta. Molupong of Arikodong club and Sethpou of DYA received yellow.
In the first match, Elation SA defeated Stardom United FC. Young Star SC also defeated Tepenjem Rugo Mokokchung in the second match. Both teams won their respective matches by the scoreline of 1-0.
