The Mokokchung District Cricket Association (MDCA) has conveyed its appreciation to the Nagaland Cricket Association for selecting four players from Mokokchung to represent the state in the BCCI Associate Members U-16 and U-19 tournaments to be played in Jharkhand. Anoksangba, of Khar village and a student of Jubilee Memorial School, Mokokchung and Longsasunep of Longsa village and a student of Edith Douglas Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung were selected for the U-16 team while Daniel Phom, a student of Model Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung was selected for the U-19 team. Merenkaba, of Longsa village and a student of Children School, Mokokchung was selected to represent the state in both U-16 and U-19 categories.
MDCA president Temjen Paul is a press release conveyed good luck to the four players and encouraged youngsters to take interest in the game of cricket. He also appealed to the parents and schools to support the children positively and mould them in their cricketing careers. He also conveyed best wishes to the Nagaland U-16 and U-19 teams in the BCCI Associate Members Tournament.
BCCI Associate Members U16 tournament is being played at Dande, Jharkhand from March 8-14, 2014 while the BCCI Associate Members U19 tournament will begin from March 15 at Ranchi, Jharkhand.
