The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industries (MCCI) has expressed gratitude to Chief Engineer, Project Sewak, Commandant, 15 BRDF, OC 100 RCC (GREF) and OC KK Gupta for their tireless effort in clearing the vital Mokokchung-Mariani road and keeping it open despite the inclement weather. The MCCI pointed out that roads in Mokokchung are prone to landslides, and most of the time, are washed away by incessant rains during monsoon. The landslides often cause vehicles to get stranded for long hours causing much inconvenience to the public. The MCCI appreciated the BRO for increasing the machineries and manpower in keeping the commercial lifeline of Mokokchung and the neighboring districts open throughout day and night. Their relentless efforts in filling the potholes, clearing mudslides and repairing of roads is well appreciated by the people of Mokokchung, especially the traders who have to bring the essential commodities from Assam, MCCI president Moasangba Jamir stated in a press note.
The MCCI also called upon the general public to cooperate with the BRO so that it could clear the roads and serve the public better. The MCCI has further appreciated the PWD (NH-61) Mokokchung division for filling up the potholes .
