Dimapur, Dec. 1 (EMN): The Mon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) directed all the business establishments in Mon headquarters not pay any illegal taxes/donation but to immediately report to its office in the event of such illegal donations, demands and extortion.
A MCCI statement, jointly issued by its president N Ünok SN and general secretary (admn) Kamnyi Konyak, also cautioned that the organisation would not be held responsible for any consequences if any shop is found selling liquor, opium etc.
MCCI also directed all shops owner not to sell any kind of fire crackers as per the order from the deputy commissioner, Mon, dated November 17 as well as by the Home department dated November 10. It mentioned that the state government has prohibited sale and use of fire crackers in all the parts of the state from November 10 to January 31.
MCCI further requested all the shops to keep their surrounding clean with paint and decoration on or before December 10 in view of the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Meanwhile, MCCI has announced to organise a mass social work at Mon town on December 5. In this regard, all shops are requested to shutter down from 6 am up to 9 am during mass social work. It warned that serious action would initiated against any person found violating to the order.
