Dimapur, July 28 (EMN): A massive fire broke out during the wee hours on Thursday (July 28) in Dimapur, razing as many as 10 houses.
The incident reportedly occurred around 12 am at Master colony, in Half Nagarjan, and the Dimapur Fire Station received a call at around 12:29 am.
According to personnel from the Dimapur Fire station, seven fire tenders — four from Dimapur Fire station, two from West Dimapur Fire station and one from Chumoukedima fire station — were dispatched to the spot shortly after the call.
The fire fighters took almost three hours to put the situation under control, it was informed.
Although no injuries or casualties have been reported so far, 10 bamboo houses were reduced to ashes and 10 gas cylinders were reported to have exploded in the fire.
Few concrete houses were also partially affected. It was also claimed that property worth approximately INR 18 lakh was lost in the fire.
The exact cause of the fire could not be ascertained till filing of the report.
