DIMAPUR — St. Peter’s Parish, Kiphire, for the first time conducted a mass wedding vow renewal on the theme “Live your best life in love”.
According to an update, a total of 132 people participated in the programme, which was an initiative of the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Philip Magh.
In his introduction, he said that the family is the first essential cell of human society, because of which the importance of family life has to be looked after.
Rev. Fr. Thomas Toretkiu, a resource person, highlighted three topics: challenges of married life in today’s world, areas in reaching out as couples, and how to live married lives as a sacrament.
He reflected that married life in today’s world can be challenging, but with the right mindset and strategies, couples can build a strong and lasting relationship. He exhorted couples to focus on communication, compromise, and understanding, which involves practising open and honest communication and showing appreciation for each other.

He stated that living a married life as a sacrament in the light of God involves recognising the sacred bond between two people and nurturing it with love, care, and commitment. This can be achieved through regular prayer, attending church services together, and seeking guidance from spiritual leaders. He further said that to live a contented married life requires effort, dedication, and a willingness to grow and learn together.
The whole-day programme was conducted with fun and insightful learning, including couples’ party games, singing, and dancing.
In the evening, a short adoration was conducted by Rev. Fr. Philip, Sr. Lucy SABS, and Sr. Caroline SABS, after which marriage renewal vows were taken. A blessed rosary was exchanged by each as a sign of love for each other.
