Dimapur, May 4 (EMN): As the country enters the third phase of lockdown, which has been extended for two more weeks (till May 17), here in Nagaland, the government is preparing to normalise daily activities slowly, starting from lifting the containment of Marwari Patti in the state’s commercial hub, Dimapur.
The area was designated an ‘orange zone’ after one of its residents was tested positive for Covid-19.
The deputy commisioner (DC) of Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi, informed Eastern Mirror that the sealing of Marwari Patti will be lifted on May 5, except for Thakurbari area.

The DC of Mon, Thavaseelan K, also informed that the district will have certain shops open but with strict guidelines to be followed. Stores and shops selling essential goods will be opened until further advisories are issued, he informed adding that it was finalised at a DTF meeting on Monday.
“Salons, restaurant and the likes will still remain shut but others will be open where proprietors have to make sure to maintain and follow the guidelines,” said Thavaseelan.
Further, Kumar Ramnikant, the DC of Tuensang informed that the district is doing fine and following all guidelines.
“We have received one guideline for intra-district movement; have called DTF meeting on Tuesday to decide modalities,” said the DC.
When asked about travellers entering the district now that intra-district travel was allowed, he informed that people moving within the state won’t be quarantined as Nagaland is a ‘green zone’.
Meanwhile, in an order issued on Monday the commissioner of police, Dimapur, has relaxed the earlier promulgation of prohibitive orders under Section 144 CrPC; it will now be in force only from 5 pm to 6 am till May 17 during which assembly movement of five and more persons would be strictly prohibited.
The exempted list remains unchanged, he informed.
