Kohima, Oct. 2 (EMN): MVYO, Meriema and Chumu Town FC advanced to pre-quarters of the 20th NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy after winning their respective matches at the Kohima local ground on Wednesday, October 2.
Playing the first match of the day, MVYO, Meriema humiliated Jovial FC 8-0.
Keneisezo Keditsu registered the first goal for MVYO, Meriema in the 16th minute and was soon followed by another goal from the boots of Vizotuolie Lhousi in the 19th minute. Vizotuolie Lhousi scored his second goal in the 40th minute and completed his hat-trick in the 67th minute.
Keneisezo Keditsu also completed his hat-trick after scoring in the 26th and 48th minute respectively.
Vikeduolie Lhousi and Kenei Viluo also scored a goal each in the 31st minute and 81st minute to humiliate Jovial FC 8-0.
The second match of the day was played between Chumu Town FC and Young Rising Star FC.
Limakumzuk opened the scoring in the 37th minute and doubled his goal in the 39th minute for Chumu Town FC.
After the breather both the teams were reduced down to 10-men after Thejangulie of Chumu Town FC was sent off in the 60th minute followed by Kühüzhoyi Theluo of Young Rising Star FC who was also sent off in the 78th minute for unsporting behaviour.
The match ended 2-0 in favour of Chumu Town FC.
Limakumzuk of Chumu Town FC and Thenushoyi and Shevosayi of Young Rising Star FC were cautioned with a yellow-card.
With the win, Chumu Town FC will take on Amicus Unitum FC on October 8 at 12:30 pm.
