Maram Khullen annual sports meet held

Nagaland Parliamentary Secretary for Justice & Law, Land Revenue, Labour & Employment Dr. Nicky Kire said peace and unity is the most important aspect in this world. He was addressing the six-day 29th annual sports meet inaugural programme of the Maram Khullen circle students’ & youth association (MKCSYA) as the chief guest at N. Raisung ground Maram bazaar, Senapati district yesterday.Dr. Nicky said people of different places brought together and closer through sports. He said sports and music has no boundaries and also has many positive impacts in the society. He encouraged the players to play with true sportsmanship and aim for excellent. The Parliamentary secretary also challenged the young people to be more dedicated, discipline and work with determination. He challenged the gathering and said “to live is to change and not to change is to stagnant and die”.
President Tenyimi people’s organization (TPO) Keku Zeliang addressing the gathering said Tenyimi people are separated and live in different states of Nagaland, Assam and Manipur but we have common history. He said Tenyimi people have rich culture and heritage and should preserve it for our future generations also.
Tonpang Ozukum in his address called upon the Nagas to be strengthened and more united. He said though the Nagas are separated by artificial boundaries it should have the Naga spirit and unites through sports and spread the same to other Naga brothers.
Rev. K. Daniel said invocation prayer, welcome address was delivered by P.Lamak Moses president MKCSYA , lighting of sports torch by Ng. Karaiba D.I. MNADC ( 1st MKCSYA president), oath taking was administered by Ng. Talu Sebastine, cultural displayed by Maram Khullen, Mao , Poumai and Nepali communities , while vote of thanks was proposed by K.Kamba Gabriel S/culture secy. MKCSYA.
