Manipur’s security situation discussed
Dimapur, Oct. 21 (EMN): Lieutenant General Rajeev Sirohi, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Spear Corps called on Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh in Imphal to discuss the security situation of the state as well as the Indo-Myanmar border.
A defence press release on Monday informed that the GOC assured the chief minister of all cooperation and assistance from the army and Assam Rifles.
“The chief minister appreciated the security forces for their steadfast dedication and devotion to duty in maintaining peace and tranquillity in the state in spite of numerous challenges,” it stated.
Meanwhile, Biren Singh has convened an all-party meeting to discuss the “issue of Indo-Naga talks and other related issues” on October 22 at the chief minister’s secretariat in Imphal, Manipur.
