
- IMPHAL — In an
effort to ignite curiosity and foster awareness about space science and
technology, a 14-member team from Manipur comprising 13 students and one
coordinator left Imphal for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)
Bengaluru on Monday.

Bisheshwar Khumukcham officially flagged off the team in the presence of
parents, teachers, media persons and other officials of the department.

- The tour is organised under the programme ‘North East
Student Programme for Awareness, Reach and Knowledge on Space’ (NE-SPARKS),
which is implemented by the North East Space Applications Centre (NESAC) under
the initiative of the Ministry of DoNER, in collaboration with the Government
of Manipur.
- A total of 100 talented Science students from each of the
eight North Eastern states will get an opportunity to visit ISRO in different
batches starting from the month of April till December.
- Cyclothon to commemorate World Earth Day
- In a move to spread public awareness on environment
protection and human health, the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change
is organising a 12 km cyclothon in commemoration of World Earth Day, in and
around Imphal on Tuesday.
- The event is in partnership with the Association of
Healthcare Providers (India) Manipur chapter, Editors' Guild Manipur, All
Manipur Working Journalists' Union, Manipur Adventure and Mountain Biking
Association, and Riverbank Society Manipur.
- The cycle rally will be flagged from the western gate of the
historic Kangla Fort at 7.30 am.
