IMPHAL, March 15
The 4th Journalists Sports Meet 2013, organised by All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU), formally kick-started with Manipur Olympic Association president Bijoy Koijam lighting up the sports meet flame at Manipur Press Club campus this morning.
A number of journalists from different parts of the state participated in the day’s torch rally, lit from the sacred Kangla Fort located in the heart of Imphal town.Competitions in track and field events of 5-day sports meet will be held from tomorrow from 7 am onward at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium followed by volleyball competition in the afternoon.
Football, table tennis, badminton, chess and carom would be held in the following days of the meet which is scheduled to end on March 19 at Khuman Lampak sports complex, according to general secretary GA Naocha of AMWJU.
