Manipur revenue increased to INR 900 cr. after GST implementation — CM

Imphal, Jan 24 (EMN): Chief Minister N Biren Singh said the state revenue has increased to 900 crore from 500 crore, after the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST).

He said the growth rate of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has also increased to 8 % from 4% under the present government.

Announcing this, he said the result shows that with the advent of the present regime, there is economic development in the state.

The chief minister was speaking at the consultative meeting on food processing-cum-technology exhibition, organised by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Connect North East at CSIR – North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST) at the Branch Laboratory, Lamphelpat in Imphal on Friday.

While acknowledging the CSIR for supporting entrepreneurs of the state, he urged them to provide technologies that can increase crops productivity.
