Imphal, Aug. 19 (EMN): Manipur reported 526 new Covid-19 cases according to a press release issued by the state Health department.
Thus the state’s total infection tally increased to 1,09,843 with 5,508 active cases, it added. The newly infected persons were mainly from Imphal West (178), Imphal East (97) and Thoubal (42) districts.
Moreover, the state also recorded four Covid-19 fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s death toll to 1,732, the sources said.
The victims were from Bishnupur (one), Churachandpur (one), Imphal East (one) and Thoubal (one) and districts.
On the other hand, with 520 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered Covid-19 cases in Manipur reached 1,02,603. Thus, the state’s recovery rate increases to 93.40 percent.
Till date 11,72,024 persons were tested for Covid-19 while 7,30,503 persons were screened at the entry points of the state at the various testing centres in the state, the source said.
Manipur has so far, given 14,62,972 doses of Covid-19 vaccines including 11,72,909 first and 2,90,063 second doses to the residents. A total of 5,97,307 first doses and 20,121 second dose of Covid-19 vaccine were given to people between 18-44 years and 2,88,460 first doses and 1,11,674 second doses to people between 45-59 years besides 1,45,483 first doses and 59,124 second doses to people above 60 years till date, as per latest vaccination report available here.
