Manipur reports 369 new Covid-19 cases, 6 deaths

Imphal, Aug .18 (EMN): Manipur reported 369 new Covid-19 positive cases according to the Manipur Health department.

Thus the state’s total infection tally increased to 1,09,317 while the total number of active cases stands at 5,506.

The newly infected persons were mainly from Imphal West (135), Imphal East (77)and Bishnupur(62) districts. 

Meanwhile, the state also recorded  six Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s Covid-19 death toll to 1,728,the sources said.

The victims were from Bishnupur(one), Chandel (one), Churachandpur (one),Imphal East(one),Imphal West(one)and Thoubal (one) and districts. 

On the other hand, with 578 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered Covid-19 cases in Manipur reached 1,02,083, it said. Thus the state’s recovery rate increased to 93.38 %. 

Till date, 11,67,859 persons were tested for Covid-19 while 7,29,723 persons were screened at the entry points of the state at the various testing centres in the state, the source said.

At the same time, Manipur has so far given 14,54,182 doses of Covid-19 vaccines including 11,71,305 first and 2,82,877 second doses to the residents. 

A total of 5,96,242 first doses and  16,577 second dose of Covid-19 vaccine were given to people between 18-44 years and 2,88,124 first doses and  1,09,516 second doses  to people between 45-59 years besides 1,45,280 first doses and 57,912 second doses to people above 60 years till date, as per latest vaccination report available here.
