- IMPHAL — The
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Wednesday joined the nationwide
protest called by the Indian National Congress against what it alleged to be a
politically motivated move by the Modi government at the centre.
- The protest follows the recent seizure of assets related to
the National Herald and the filing of charge sheets against senior Congress
leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
- MPCC president K Meghachandra Singh condemned the
government’s action, terming the charge sheets as an act of political vendetta.
The protest was staged in front of the Enforcement Directorate’s office in
Imphal.

- Former Chief Minister and Congress MLA O Ibobi Singh stated
that the MPCC and its members fully oppose what they termed the undemocratic
conduct of the Modi government.
- Senior party leaders, including former MP Dr. T Meinya,
former minister M Hemanta, former MLA Sarat, and other prominent Congress
leaders, were present at the protest.
