Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA) felicitated the winning players of India Polo team B, who won the title of 7th Manipur Polo International which was held at Mapal Kangjeibung from the November 23 to 28, at its pony breeding farm at Lamphelpat in Imphal today.A cash award of Rs 50,000 and a trophy was handed over to the winning team. During the felicitation function, Captain of the team S Bimol said that the team won the title because of good coordination and discipline.
He also expressed his desire to encourage Polo players by giving job opportunities to them by the government. President Senjam Budhachandra of the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association speaking on the occasion said that six countries will be invited in the next 8th Manipur Polo International to be held neat year. While reminding that Polo cannot develop without the cooperation of the people of the state, he also expressed his happiness for the support extended by the state government.
