Manipur Police seizes drugs, arrests five person
Imphal, March 27 (EMN): Manipur Police arrested five persons along with illegal drugs during three different incidents in the state, informed the state chief minister, N Biren Singh.
He wrote, “A combined team of Imphal West Commando and Wangoi Police station arrested one Md Pitru, Miss Sakina and N Sanathoi along with 24 plastic vile of suspected heroin powder weighing about 23 gram, 320 empty plastic vile and INR 90,000 in cash, which is suspected to be proceeds of selling the narcotic items.”
A combined team of Jiribam Police and Narcotics Cell (Jiribam) arrested one person, who identified himself as Md Azamir from Sora Mamang Mayai Leikai in Thoubal district along with 25 soap cases of brown sugar weighing around 316.62 gm. A Toyota Innova car was also seized from him, he said.
A team of Imphal East district police arrested one person called Vareithing Kasom along with four soap cases of heroin powder, weighing about 103 gm at the Eastern side of Kyamgei Pal Ahanbi Thong at the outskirts of Imphal.
In addition, another team arrested one person called Md Altaf along with three soap cases and 94 plastic vials of heroin powder weighing 63 gms.
Since the day of forming the new government, we have been able to seize narcotics worth over INR 15 crore, he added.
