Expounding that science has given new light to society, Manipur Education minister Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh has sought to honour the endeavours and sacrificial spirit of the scientists for humanity.

Singh stated this while speaking as the chief guest on the occasion of state-level National Science Day 2021 held at the auditorium of Manipur State Film Development Society on Sunday. Singh stated that the observance of National Science Day signified the respect and courtesy shown to the scientists who have set a light for human society. Science has indeed prevented us from the danger of fatal diseases, he said adding the development in science and technology has also made life easier.

Observing that the future destiny would be decided by the present generation, he urged the students to focus on their studies instead of indulging in unnecessary activities. “They will succeed in life only when they work with a firm determination and objective,” he added.

A Science quiz competition was also held as a part of the observance. In the oral science quiz competition, Little Flower School, Sangaiprou, won the first prize while Nirmalabas High School, Mothers’ Pride Academy won the second and third prizes respectively.
