Manipur men and women emerge champs in team event, Nagaland women bag silver, men’s team settles for bronze

Manipur today emerged as the champions of both men and women in the team event in the ongoing 24th National Sepaktakraw Championship which is underway at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. The championship is being hosted by Nagaland Sepaktakraw Association (NASTA) under the aegis of Sepaktakraw Federation of India (STFI) and Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland. Playing the finals of the men’s team event, Manipur defeated Delhi in straight two sets to emerge as the champions. Nagaland and Uttar Pradesh jointly bagged the 3rd place winners after losing to Manipur and Delhi in the semifinals respectively.
In the women’s team event final, Manipur emerged as the winner after thrashing Nagaland in straight sets. Odisha and Assam losing to Manipur and Nagaland in the semi-finals, were declared the joint third place winners.
The regu and double events are in progress and will conclude on Friday.
