Manipur lifts NE zone inter-university football tournament

DIMAPUR — The Northeast Zone Inter-University Football Tournament, which kicked off on November 11 at Nagaland University Lumami, culminated on Friday with the National Sports University (NSU) of Manipur claiming the title.

A press release informed that Nagaland University secured second place, while Dibrugarh University finished third. Dhanamanjuri University (Manipur), placed in fourth place, completed the list of top four teams.

Fourteen University teams from the eight NE states had played in the knockout round to determine the four best teams. The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, was the special guest at the closing ceremony,
