Manipur introduces grading system for Class 10 exams
IMPHAL — The Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM), responsible for administering the annual Class 10 examinations, will commence the implementation of a grading system for the Class 10 board examination starting this year.
BOSEM chairman Akhan Joykumar has stated that the grading system for the high school leaving certificate examination will not include divisions or ranks.
From this year on, students scoring between 91 and 100 will receive a grade of A1, while those scoring between 81 and 90 will receive a grade of A2. For scores between 21 and 30, students will be awarded an E1 grade, which indicates a failing grade, along with an E2.
In addition, BOSEM has also introduced measures aimed at improving the examination process in accordance with the objectives outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020.
It’s worth mentioning that BOSEM recently conducted its annual Class 10 examination for the year 2024 from March 15 to April 8. This year, a total of 37,715 students took the Class 10 board exams, including 19,087 male students and 18,628 female students.
