Manipur hammers Tripura in National football c’ship

Imphal Sep. 2 (EMN): Manipur defeated Tripura by 5-1 goals in the Sub-Junior Boys National Football Championship 2017-18 qualifying round for North East Zone played at Khuman Lampak on Saturday.
Manipur should have won in a higher goal margin but lack of direction wasted their chances. MK.Chongsu Chothe scored two goals while skipper E.Santoshkumar Singh, Zlex Khangrakpam and M.Jetlee chipped in with a goal each.
The lone goal for Tripura was scored by Nokbar Jamatia who also got a yellow card in the match and had to make a sad exit from the championship as they lost two matches in a row. In tomorrow’s match, Assam will take on Arunachal Pradesh.
League: IWSC Khumbong beat KSC Lambulane by a solitary goal in the 7th K.Karnajit Singh Memorial 2nd Division Football League 2017 played at Loitang Khunou, Imphal West.
The winning goal for Khumbong was struck by Seityajit in the 41st minute. In the second match, UPC Pishum blanked MSC Malom 4-0. Umakanta Singh struck two goals in the 26th and 65th minute while Ningthouja fetched one goal in the 71st minute while MSC player Karan Singh conceded an own goal in 59th minute.
