Imphal, Sep. 1 (EMN): Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joy Kumar Singh on Friday assured that the government will consider 22 Points Charter of Demand by Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions’ Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees’ Organisation (AMGEO).
The assurance was conveyed during an interaction with the representatives of JAC at his Official Chamber at Manipur Secretariat in Imphal on friday.
Secretary General Laitonjam Biken Singh of JAC led 14 representatives including four women, highlighted 22 Points Charter of Demand during their one hour long interaction with Deputy Chief Minister who holds Finance Portfolio.
The Charter of Demand includes implementation of the 7th Central Pay in-to revision and extending all its benefit to all the State Government Employees, Pensioners and Family Pensioners without delay.
To revise the rate of minimum wage from time to time at central norms, no re- employment/extension of services beyond the age of superannuation against the Government of India’s O.M., discontinuation of holding/assigning several posts as in-charge or look after basis, to lift ban on direct recruitment to fill up all the sanctioned regular posts resultant vacancies lying in various Departments, to enhance duty allowance of Home Guards, to increase Ration Money for Manipur Police, IRB, security personal as paid to the Central Security Forces, to establish Manipur State Staff Selection Commission for recruitment of Group ‘C’ employees and to extend Medical re-imbursement facility to pensioners and family pensioners are some of the main demands that the Council has been made to the Government.
Joy Kumar after the meet also admitted that the state government will try to implement the 7th Pay Recommendations after a detail discussion on resource mobilization have been made. He said, since its inception, State Government has been trying to enhance revenue resources in all sectors. But, implementation of Pay Recommendations will incur a huge financial involvement to the Government and therefore, a detail exercise on revenue resources has to be made to ensure its implementation, he added.
He added, with the implementation of new taxation system i.e. GST in the country, State Government will also look into the technicalities of its collection and overall revenue generation to the State. On demands made by JAC regarding policy matters, and grievances faced by the State Government employees, he assured to take up and addressed their grievances at the earliest.
