IMPHAL — The statehood day celebration of Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli was held at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Imphal on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey, emphasised that the state has been facing challenges over the past eight months and highlighted the ongoing collaborative efforts of the central and state governments, along with civil and social organisations, to address the issues through dialogue in order to restore peace and normalcy in the state.

The governor appealed to the people, urging them to come together and resolve the challenges through discussion and dialogue and added that the prosperity of the state and the well-being of its citizens are intricately linked to the overall progress of the country.

Stressing on “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat,” she said that the celebration of foundation day serves the purpose of introducing the youth and the citizens to the diverse aspects of each other’s states, including art, culture, music, dance, festivals, language, costumes, traditions, and tourist places.

According to her, these events play a crucial role in acquainting the youth with the rich cultural heritage of the country and its various states, contributing to their holistic development.
