Imphal, June 29 (EMN): Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Wednesday assured that all round development will be seen in the state in the coming months.

The governor was speaking at an interaction session of MLAs, representatives of urban local bodies and panchayats, district level officers, civil society organisations (CSO) and beneficiaries at the Mayai Lambi College in Imphal West district.

La Ganesan expressed confidence that such interaction programmes or ‘Janata Darbar’ will definitely help to identify issues and grievances faced by the people and help concerned authorities to deal with the issues timely.

People have the right to express any issue or grievances before authority and their issues should be addressed as soon as possible, he said and added that in most of the places he visited, he had heard complaints of poor connectivity, deplorable road conditions, lack of basic amenities and poor healthcare facilities.

Admitting that most of the roads including in the hill areas are in need of care, Ganesan said that in the coming months, almost all roads will be repaired and people will enjoy a safe passage and urged all to cooperate with patience.

He further said that with the support and cooperation of all stakeholders and people, the fight against COVID-19 pandemic has been successful and appealed to all to be very careful, maintain cleanliness and to get vaccinated at least twice to fight the disease.

Reiterating the commitment of the centre to eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) by 2025, the governor asked the district administration to conduct door-to-door surveys and identify TB patients and take appropriate steps.

He also assured the people that he will ask concerned authorities and if necessary, ask the chief minister to take steps in the interest of the people. Earlier, the CSOs submitted a memorandum and urged the governor to look into the issues.

MLAs Karam Shyam (Langthabal), Kongkham Robindro(Mayang Imphal), Khuraijam Loken Singh (Wangoi), Adhyaksha RK Taruni of Imphal West Zilla Parishad, pradhans, councillors, villagers, beneficiaries of various state and central sponsored schemes and students attended the programme.
