Manipur Edu. minister assures to look into transportation services for students

Our Correspondent Imphal, Oct. 9 (EMN): The desire of the people in transportation services of the school students will be sought soon in connection with the regulation of school vehicles, said the Manipur Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam at the 10th teachers’ day cum parents teachers meet of the Communicative English Language Teaching Institute in Thoubal district on Tuesday. Saying that it is common but unpleasant sight young children packed in vans for schools, the minister appealed to the people, associated with the transportation of children back and forth to school and home, to attend a discussion programme in order to have a better policy so that fair and appropriate rules can be laid down. Highlighting the importance of school assignment, he said that the assignments are given to the students to increase their learning capabilities. However, he lamented that due to the availability of ready-made assignments on sale, the process of carrying out the assignment is rather becoming more of a cut-and-paste. It is important that the students are made to carry out their task honestly to help them develop and discover their innate abilities and exhibit their talents, he said He maintained that seeing and learning is one of the best methods for teaching children adding that accelerated learning or reinforces learning method helps in long term impression of what has been taught and learnt in the class. Responsibilities of parents do not end by sending children to school likewise the teachers’ duty towards the students is not confine to completing of syllabus but to prepare and built them up the capability to face any challenges in life, the minister said.
