Manipur Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel inaugurated 13 Anganwadi centres in Senapati district under PM JANMAN for the Maram tribe

IMPHAL — On his maiden visit to Senapati district, Manipur Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, accompanied by Secretary of Public Health Engineering, Tourism, Information and Public Relations Worshang Hungyo, inaugurated 13 newly constructed Anganwadi centres (AWC) under Pradhan Mantri Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan (PM DAJA) and Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN) at Taphou Naga, Senapati, 60 km north of Imphal, on Saturday.
The 13 newly inaugurated AWCs under PM JANMAN for the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups – Maram tribe – include Sadim Taksagalung, Taklung, Naojai, Ngzamkhi, Maram Bazaar Baptist Church, Kalambam, Kadoilamduikong, Maralong-A, Maralong-B, Ntazang, Taphou Naga C, Sadim Naga, and Rangalung.
During the inauguration, which was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Senapati Mamoni Doley along with district officials, the Taphou Naga Village Authority expressed appreciation for the development in their area.
Further, a tree plantation was carried out by the officials at the premises of the newly constructed AWC.

The chief secretary interacted with the Maram tribe leaders, offering words of encouragement, and later proceeded to the DC’s office, where he interacted with district-level officers and civil society organisations of the district.
Goel also attended the final match of the 3rd edition of the Mao Football League, played between Kalinamei FC and Song Song FC at Asufii Football Academy Ground in the hill district, wherein Kalinamei FC emerged as champions with a 2-1 win. The winning team received a cash prize of INR 3 lakh.
Addressing the gathering, he applauded the people of Mao for promoting football and encouraged them to aim for higher levels by debuting in state and regional leagues.
In his keynote address, Mao MLA and chief host Losii Dikho said that the football league was initiated to promote the sport in the area with the support of over 180 Mao officers and added that 60 guest players from across the Northeast are involved in the league.
Commander of 22 Sector of Assam Rifles Brigadier Anshuman Tripathi, Superintendent of Police Senapati Shaikh Mohd. Zaib Zakir, Commandant of 16 Assam Rifles Colonel Sandeep Sharma, district officers, civil society organisation leaders and others were also present on the occasion.
