Manipur Covid-19 cases increase to 1234

Imphal, June 30 (EMN): The total number of Covid-19 cases in Manipur has increased to 1234 while the total number of active cases is 681, sources said on Tuesday.

In the last twenty four hours, seven persons (five males, two females) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases from the VRDL (Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratory) of JNIMS, a press release said. They are from the districts of Bishnupur (1), Imphal East (1), Kangpokpi (1), and Senapati (4).

All are returnees from other states. They are being shifted to the Covid Care Facilities, it added. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

In the last twenty four hours, 59 persons were discharged from Covid care centres of Meitram (5), Ukhrul (19), RIMS (2), JNIMS (24) and District hospital Churachandpur (9) after they were found Covid-19 free on a Real Time PCR test, it added.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1234. The number of active and recovered cases is 681 and 553 respectively. The recovery case is 44.81 percent. As on June 30, 50,994 were tested for Covid-19, another official source added. Altogether 7,110 inmates were staying at quarantine centres including paid quarantine centres while 45,486 others completed quarantine.
