Manipur CM takes stock of meals for Covid care centres

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Thursday visited Dharamshala at Thangal Bazaar in the heart of Imphal town to oversee the arrangement of meals to be provided to different hospitals and Covid Care Centres in the state.

Milan Enterprises, Thangal Bazaar has been sponsoring the meals provided by the bazaar community to over a thousand inmates undergoing treatment at different Covid Care Centres for more than 10 days.

Expressing his sincere gratitude to Milan Enterprises and Bazsar community for voluntarily coming out and providing humanitarian service in this crucial time of the Covid-19 pandemic, he also stressed on the need to join hands and work together to fight the pandemic successfully.

Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Thokchom Satyabrata, advisor to Chief Minister (Health), Dr. Sapam Ranjan accompanied the chief minister in the day’s visit.

Later, the team headed to Porompat in Imphal east district from Dharamshala to take stock of the ongoing civil work carried out to install a 20 KL liquid medical oxygen cryogenic storage tank.

Biren instructed the concerned officials to speed up the construction work as the storage tank is likely to reach the state in a couple of days.

The team also inspected the foundation work carried out for the construction of Dedicated Covid Hospital with the assistance of DRDO at Kyamgei Mayai Leikai under Keirao assembly constituency. He instructed the implementing agency to complete the foundation work at the earliest before the monsoon arrives in the state.

Sitting MLA from Khurai also the chairman of Loktak Development Authority, L Susindro, and principal secretary (Health), V Vumlunmang joined the chief minister during the inspection.
