Manipur CM rewards INR 1 lakh to traffic policeman regulating his duty amid heavy showers

Imphal, May 12 (EMN): BT Henjoy Vaiphei, a Manipur traffic policeman has been rewarded INR 1 lakh for performing his duty amid heavy showers.
The cash award was handed over by the Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh to the traffic policeman in Imphal in the presence of state chief secretary, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, senior officers and senior police officials at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal on Wednesday.
A video clip of the traffic policeman BT Henjoy Vaiphei of Churachandpur district, performing his duty amid heavy showers had gone viral on social media platforms on Tuesday, drawing the attention of the people including Chief Minister Biren Singh. Subsequently, the chief minister had announced a reward for the traffic policeman.
Sharing a video which showed the CM handing over the cash award to Vaiphei in the presence of the state’s top officials in a facebook post on Wednesday Singh wrote, “Happy to meet BT Henjoy in my office today. Came across a video of him performing his duty at Churachandpur despite the heavy rain on social media. As announced, I have extended a cash reward of INR 1 lakh and good service for his exemplary dedication to service. Good job”.
“This is the advantage of using social media”, he added.
Expressing happiness for the honour and the cash award, traffic policeman Henjoy said that each traffic policeman should understand their duties to serve the people. At the same time, he also requested the public to follow traffic rules.
