IMPHAL — Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, who left Imphal for national capital yesterday, met the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi today.
While the actually point of discussion during their meeting was not known immediately, people familiar with the matter believed that there was no other issues to be discussed except the ongoing conflict in the state.
Meanwhile, sharing the photograph of the meeting in his official X, Singh wrote, “Today, I had the esteemed privilege of meeting with the Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri @AmitShah Ji in New Delhi. Engaging in a profound exchange, we discussed matters of paramount importance concerning our state.Rest assured, the Government of India is set to take some important decisions in the interests of the people of Manipur.”

Expressing concern about the ongoing crisis in Manipur, the influential women's committee of the iconic women’s market in the heart of Imphal city on Friday urged the prime minister, Narendra Modi, to take urgent steps to end the months old conflict, considering the unending sufferings of the people of the state wherein many women have become widows due to the conflict.
Manipur had been witnessing ethnic conflict between two communities since the first week of May last year in which more than 200 people were killed and nearly 50,000 people were displaced.
