Imphal, June 29 (EMN): Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh launched the Manipur Vision 2047, a road map for the state’s rapid and sustainable growth for the next 25 years, at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Wednesday.

The vision will primarily serve as a guide for government departments and development partners as they plan specific development initiatives for the state.

The chief minister also launched the CM Dashboard, website of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption department and Online Vigilance Certificate Portal.

Speaking during the occasion, Singh stated that the state government, under the guidance of the central government, had started planning for the development works to be taken up for the next 25 years since the last 8 months.

Stressing the need for proper planning before carrying out certain activities, he added that the Manipur Vision 2047 had been placed for knowledge of the people of Manipur in connection with the celebration of 75 years of Indian independence.

Mentioning that Vision 2047 would lead the present generation in making a better Manipur for the future generation, he expressed his gratitude to the concerned officials for their dedicated efforts to come up with the long term vision.

He mentioned the projects of ring road, Liklang Pareng and border road, which aim for better connectivity throughout the state. He also stated that the vision included details on attaining self sustainability through Atmanirbhar Bharat, employment generation and development of agriculture sector and other sectors.

The chief minister also thanked the India Infrastructure Finance Company Ltd (IIFCL) for making the state, first among the North-eastern states to bring out a vision document for the next 25 years. He was hopeful that the state would be able to successfully execute the plan.

It may be mentioned that the Online Vigilance Certificate Portal launched today will streamline the process of issuing vigilance certificates, which will result in cost, time and manpower saving in the government.

Further, an employee can also track his or her application online. The portal would help remove corruption, increase transparency and improve service delivery by leveraging information technology.
